Artist Statement
I was brought up in a scientific family but developed an interest in weaving and am a retired textile conservator. I worked at the Australian War Memorial for 23 years in textile conservation. I have a bachelor of Arts in the field of visual art. In 1987 I was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study textile conservation at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and to visit other textile conservation laboratories in England, France and Switzerland. I am a weaver but also work with other textile media. I have exhibited regularly in group exhibitions since I graduated in 1987.
My current interest is using mushroom spores for printing and the uses of mushroom mycelium to remove toxic materials and renovate soil.
